The work of Birmingham-based fine artist, Belles Petite, explores the parameters of theory and literature within the natural world. Her work is created through subtle application of colour and line, and the use of a wide spectrum of media.
Comprising multiple layers, using several printing, painting and illustration techniques, Belles Petite’s vision reflects elements of dreams, often using the language of myth and symbolism.
The overriding element to her work however always falls on the contrasts between the organic and the industrial. The ambiguity in Belles Petite’s work strives to highlight the differences within these themes.
