Chainsaw & THE GIRL is a collaboration between artists BILLY CHAINSAW & GIRL SH*T: one that came together initially for their inaugural show MUSIC, SUBCULTURE & MAGICK held in the CONCLAVE Brighton basement exhibition space in October/November 2019.
Since then, they have continued to work together, with new works showing at Conclave as part of our 8th group show: Pieces of Eight (Here be Treasure!)
About MUSIC, SUBCULTURE & MAGICK:
The 2019 show explored their shared love of MUSIC, SUBCULTURE & MAGICK, and featured 46 mixed-media works on paper, and 4 larger mixed-media and paint on stretched canvas / mounted wood pieces. Every piece was worked on by both artists as the works were passed back and forth during their creation.
BILLY CHAINSAW artist statement: “In my early teens I developed an obsession with American comic books, masks, the movies, magick, and author William S. Burroughs… elements that repeatedly feature in my mixed-media, cut up pop art.”
THE GIRL (aka GIRL SH*T) artist statement: “GIRL SH*T is informed by a love of subcultures, music, ’zines, gig posters, fashion, art, design and punk feminism.”
Shown in the digital gallery below are the works available for sale at the end of the show. All paper works are approximately A4 (they are shown here against black background mounts which are not a part of the works) but we recommend mounting them into A3 frames to show off the works in their full glory!

Postage costs are calculated on an individual basis, but for guidance, an unframed A4 paper work is +£4 p&p for mainland UK addresses, framed to A3 to UK addresses is +£8.50.
