Guillaume Serve

Guillaume is a Parisian-born artist, who swapped the French capital’s art scene for Brighton’s in 2004, where we now find him using his multi-media art practice to create works with a distinctive Gallic charm.

Guillaume works primarily with collage and paints: layering found imagery with mark-marking and created textures that puts forward a final work with multiple viewpoints and contrasting – and somewhat conflicting – narratives.

His work is a play on the parallels and the diversions of images. His collages are not just a combination of media, but also of ideas.

The representation of the human body is a recurrent theme. Guillaume often explores the limits of the body through concepts as memory, death and eroticism.

For Group Show 9, Guillaume presents 6 EXCLUSIVE works from his monoprint series – reflections on the amusing habits and absurdity of modern humans.
