SUMMARY:BRIGHTON FRINGE FESTIVAL: Lewys Holt - Phrases
DESCRIPTION:Phrases is a one-man dance\, multimedia and spoken word performance. It is a minimal\, reflective piece that continually shape-shifts between PowerPoint presentation\, dance performance\, stand-up set\, private conversation\, and storytelling recital. \n  \n\nPhrases exists in a kind of ethereal space. Projections of stream-of-consciousness writing are paired with often improvised movement and discussions of communication\, to create a subtly humorous yet unnerving piece. Generally\, the piece expresses some kind of solidarity with the anxious\, the confused and those who overthink. It doesn’t even really tell anyone that it’s going to be okay – it just sort of says “I know…” and strokes your head\, at the same time as having its own little freakout. \nhttps://conclave-brighton.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/phrases_trailer-720p.mp4\n\n“Phrases is fun\, eccentric and clever”\n(Voice Magazine ★★★★) \n“Unpretentious\, honest and thought-provoking\, Holt offers a wonderful study in overthinking.”\n(Broadway Baby ★★★★) \n1 PERFORMANCE/EVENT: \n\nSATURDAY 21st May 2022 17:00 – 17:45 (45 minutes)\nTickets: £8 / £5 concessions\n\nFor tickets and more information\, head over to the Brighton Fringe Festival website. \nRead the BINGE FRINGE interview with Lewys Holt here \n\nSUITABLE FOR AGES 14+ \n\nQUERIES ABOUT THE EVENT? Please contact the organisers by email\nANY QUERIES ABOUT THE VENUE?
