Merny

Merny is a Bristol-based artist who creates artworks about the idiosyncrasies of human interactions, and the ridiculousness of everyday, modern-life scenarios.

In a style inspired by online memes, diagrams, safety posters and the language of industrial design, he predominantly works in pencil and watercolours in his studio, and uses spray paint and rollers when working on murals out on the street.

Merny’s humourous, saturated images are unique, quirky and evocative. Tainted with a dark, biting wit – and often dripping with sarcasm – his work is relatable to everyone: if you’ve not been there yourself, you know someone who has been (and you were glad it wasn’t you…)

He is unafraid to confront the uncomfortable truths about our times, and we’re chuffed to bits that he’s having his little outburst at Conclave!
