MsDre
MsDre’s work reflects her great loves of the past, and is inspired by Greek myths, the 1920s, architecture, mid-century design and kitsch, pin-up girls, and all manner of vintage wonders.
Coming from a culturally diverse background, with Jamaican, Indian, African and English heritage, she naturally includes these visual influences in her works, whether this is the hummingbirds from home village in Jamaica, or the graffiti boys she hung out with as a teenager in North London.
MsDre has two distinct sides to her practice: her original artworks are vibrant, edgy, street-art style mixed-media pieces: often using stencils and print as a starting point, augmented with pen and ink, acrylic paints and markers, collage and spray paint, and often using fluoro and metallic paints for the ultimate real-life, in-person experience of the artwork.
Her illustration practice starts with multiple hand-drawn, or digitally-drawn images, worked and layered with rich, colourful details; opulent and elegant, but with a sassy and modern take on historical or mythical subjects.
We’re thrilled to be able to show many of her works as Conclave Exclusives.
