Pete Leng

Pete Leng is a Brighton-based artist who specialises in Osteology subjects (the study of the structure of bones – a subdiscipline of anatomy, anthropology, and palaeontology).

Originally from The Wirral, his passion for drawing grew from his early studies in Natural History.

His keen eye for depth and detail, along with his precise and scientific drawing style perfectly depicts his subjects: skulls and skeletons from modern day animals to the prehistoric and mythological.

Rendered in a monochromatic palette, his works have a stillness and reflective quality which echoes the passing of time and evolution. His works present a sense of mystery and the questioning of fact, assumption and hegemonic narrative.
