Stee Louw

Stee is a Zimbabwean-born digital artist, now living and practicing in Brighton.

Having completed his Masters photography at Brighton University, his subsequent creative practice has explored photographic collage and montage, and digital manipulation. His artworks use the juxtaposition of images from very different social contexts to create a message and placeholder for thoughts about notions of identity, personal responsibility and the dominant messages we hear about cultural values.

For Group Show 19, Stee is showing works from his “The Race for Africa” series. This project touches on themes of identity, colonialism and colonial photography.
