Described by Brighton Source as “unapologetically weird”, Club Silencio promise a memorable night from the alternative edge of satire, strangeness and sex appeal.

BRIGHTON FRINGE FESTIVAL: Lewys Holt – Phrases

BRIGHTON FRINGE FESTIVAL: Lewys Holt - Phrases

Phrases is a one-man dance, multimedia and spoken word performance. It is a minimal, reflective piece that continually shape-shifts between PowerPoint presentation, dance performance, stand-up set, private conversation, and storytelling recital.

Lewys Holt Phrases
Phrases exists in a kind of ethereal space. Projections of stream-of-consciousness writing are paired with often improvised movement and discussions of communication, to create a subtly humorous yet unnerving piece. Generally, the piece expresses some kind of solidarity with the anxious, the confused and those who overthink. It doesn’t even really tell anyone that it’s going to be okay – it just sort of says β€œI know…” and strokes your head, at the same time as having its own little freakout.

β€œPhrases is fun, eccentric and clever”

(Voice Magazine β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…)

“Unpretentious, honest and thought-provoking, Holt offers a wonderful study in overthinking.”
(Broadway Baby β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…)

BRIGHTON FRINGE FESTIVAL: Moral Panic

Blue Dog Theatre presents MORAL PANIC
A play by Stuart Warwick

BRIGHTON FRINGE FESTIVAL: Moral Panic

It’s 1984, and Charles Hawthorne is working as a film censor. It’s a turbulent time, with national hysteria around a gaggle of extreme horror films – branded the video nasties. Charles is taking it all in his stride though, and even sniffs a possible promotion. That is until there’s a new appointment at the board. An appointment of a female censor who turns Charles’ world upside down, and has murderous consequences….
